Hey everyone! Last week and the weeks before we were learning narratives. Narratives are a made up story or tell. What we had to do was write ‘Little Red Riding Hood’ but with a twist. I chose to do that Little Red knew the wolf’s plan. In the introduction it had to stay the same since it was how the story sets, we also couldn’t change the character’s name (Little Red, mother, wolf and the grandmother). What was challenging was really nothing since I like writing fictional stories. What was easy was doing the twist since it was really fun. That’s it, I hope you like my story!

Little Red Riding Hood
Once upon time in a small village there lived a little girl named Little Red Riding Hood. Little Red lived with her mother in a small cottage near a huge forest.
One Morning Little Red went downstairs to the smell of a bakery.
“Are those cupcakes?” Little Red asked, noticing her mother in the kitchen.
“Yep! Don’t eat them dear” she answered “they’re for your grandmother, she’s poorly sick”. Little Red felt bad for her grandmother,
“I’ll deliver them for you!” offered Little Red, “it’s the least I can do”. Her mother was very grateful, running up and placing a kiss on Little Red’s forehead.
“Thank you!” her mother said “I’ll place the cupcakes in the basket”.
Once the cupcakes were ready Little Red’s mother carefully placed her freshly baked cupcakes in a basket.
“Here my dear” the mother said handing the basket,
“Careful, it’s still hot”, Little Red followed her mother out of the door and to the entrance of a grim forest.
“Be careful, only follow the path” Little Red’s mother said, after one last hug little red set off into the forest.
Little red set off into the dark forest with the basket of freshly baked cupcakes.
“La,la,la,la!” Little Red sang, “I shall deliver these cupcakes! Deliver these cupcakes I shall do!”
Something ominous was rustling around Little Red, something came out of the trees behind her. He was tall, furry with very sharp claws… He was a wolf!
“Cupcakes?” the wolf said evilly, “and a little girl?” The wolf was in for a feast. Little red stopped by a flower field. There were daisies, sunflowers and tulips, swaying in unison.
“I haven’t had breakfast this morning” she thought, “grandmother would like beautiful flowers more than stupid cupcakes!”. So with no hesitation Little Red started to eat the cupcakes.
“Wow!” she exclaimed “these cupcakes are really good!”, with only a few crumbs left the cupcakes were gone. Feeling no guilt inside of her, Little Red plucked the flowers and placed them in the basket.
“This is much better” she said, and little red continued her journey in the forest.
The wolf stopped her in her tracks, Little Red felt no fear standing in front of the wolf.
“Where are you going little girl?” the wolf asked,
“I’m bringing something for my grandmother!” Little Red answered, “where would your grandmother live by chance?” the wolf said, “In the heart of this forest!” Little Red replied innocently,
“Oh! I know a shortcut! If you go past this tree” the wolf pointed at an oak tree in the distance. “Then follow the path from there” and with that Little Red nodded and the wolf ran away. But.. What the wolf didn’t know was that Little Red was smarter than she seemed, she could see right through the wolf’s plan.
“What a wolf!” Little Red chuckled and walked faster than usual, her plan was to get to her grandmother’s house before the wolf. Luckily she arrived and knocked on her grandmother’s cottage, covered with tons and tons of moss,
“Grandmother? It is I, your grandchild! I have got something for you!” Little Red called out,
“My grandchild? Yes come in..” what opened the door was a short lady, with short grey hair, her nose was a bright red that reminded Little Red of Rudolph the Rednosed Reindeer. Her grandmother was obviously. She invited her in and Little Red explained the plan of the wolf and hers.
The wolf arrived, thinking that he got there before Little Red,
“Grandmama! I have got freshly baked cupcakes for you!” the wolf said in a squeaky voice,
“The door is unlocked!” The grandmother called out, “I’m only in my bedroom”. The wolf came in and searched for the bedroom, and there was Little Red’s grandmother, laying on her bed.
“You’re such a fool!” The wolf cackled, “I’m obviously the wolf! I will eat you whole!” Before the wolf could pounce, Little Red hit his head with a pan. The wolf fell to the ground,
“I’m sorry!” the wolf cried, defending himself with his hairy arm. “I’m smarter than you thought!” Little Red cheered high fiving her grandmother at the same time.
*Knock knock*
“Who’s there?” Little Red asked, she went to the door and stood in front of it was the woodcutter.
“Hey there! I’m looking for a wolf.. May I come in?” Little Red made space for the wood cutter to come through, and followed him into the bedroom.
“Ah! Here’s that wolf…” the woodcutter dragged the wolf who was crying and begging for help. Little Red did feel a bit of guilt but that was the wolf’s fault. Little Red gave the basket of flowers to her Grandmother and she loved them very much.
The wolf was never seen again and they lived happily ever after…
